Our Philosophy

We believe in the sacredness of all creation.

Humanity faces The Great Work ahead of transforming society and Earth into sustainable and just structures.

Fr. Thomas Berry describes four sources of wisdom for our age of transformation:

  • Feminine Spirituality and the wisdom of women
  • The wisdom of the great spiritual and mystical faith traditions
  • The wisdom of indigenous peoples
  • Earth's Creation Story --humankind's emerging scientific and spiritual knowledge of the evolving universe

Our philosophy is that personal renewal and alignment with this Great Work is at the heart of societal and Earth renewal: those knowledgeable and willing to undertake their own transformational journey can not only transform their own lives but also that of the planet.

We see the development of new awareness (particularly feminine and indigineous dimensions) in both women and men as critical to this work. Greater consciousness requires a deeper wisdom, looking to the margins or creative edge as well as to the classical traditions and new science.



Our Mission

Therefore, Rockhaven Ecozoic Center's mission is to create an environment and model a way of living that embodies our connection with Earth. Our intention is to promote eco-spiritual awareness in ourselves and in those who experience Rockhaven Ecozoic Center. Our environment and programs support and nourish the mutual transformation of Earth and the Human Spirit.

We consider this mission to be a basic work of Justice.

The Rockhaven Ecozoic Center: an interfaith retreat center in the Missouri Ozarks serving local and international clientele, fostering deep spiritual renewal for women and men. Our programs embrace inner Earth wisdom and the story of how this wisdom came to be. We offer retreats and interfaith spiritual renewal programs rooted in the following:
