Summer: Season of Growth and Maturity

Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium
A gathering to commemorate the 1st year anniversary of Thomas Berry's death
June 5, Saturday (9:30 pm to 3:30 pm)
The 'Old Dream,' rooted in acquisition and putting personal gain above communal good, is dying. The 'New Dream' is emerging! It's community and collaboration; it's life-enhancing and earth-honoring. Join us and experience an inspiring exploration into the links between the three facets of a new dream for humanity and planet Earth: environmental sustainability, social justice, and spiritual fulfillment. Together we'll go on a journey of planetary inquiry and what's possible for the future. This symposium combines leading edge information, live presentation, animated facilitation, video clips, and group interaction. You will come away with new and deeper levels of both awareness and readiness for effective action, with a profound sense of hope and purpose. This symposium is part of a rapidly expanding global initiative--nearly 70,000 people in 40 countries on six continents have participated so far!

Drumming Circle
June 11, Friday (7:00 pm to 8:00 pm)
Drumming is an ancient form of prayer harmonizing your heartbeat with that of the Mother Earth. No drum circle experience is the same; YOU make the difference! So come and be part of Rockhaven's "circle of drummers." Bring a drum (if you have one), some prayer intentions, and your inner rhythm! No prior drumming experience necessary.

Summer Solstice: Celebrating the Sacred Fire and the Green Earth
June 19, Saturday (6:00 pm to 8:00 pm)
As the coolness of spring shifts to the brilliant heat of summer, we come together again to mark the longer days and celebrate the magic of the fire that sustains us and Earth, our Mother. The long days and warm weather are vital for long hours on the fields and gardens, for young animals to grow strong and for crops to begin to ripen... we're gratefull for the Sun!

Women Making Noise: A Women's Retreat
June 18, 19 & 20 (Friday to Sunday)
Facilitators: Tina Blatter, Marilyn Burke, Linda Mott, and Gail Prichard
This year's retreat centers on an art project - making our own Maracas. There will be plenty of time during this exciting art project for telling our own stories of how we use our voices, songs and even dance to "make noise" in our lives. With the maracas, we will use our voice to tell who we are, share our perspective, and own our "music."

Be Out There: The Great American Backyard Campout
June 25, Friday (6:30 pm)
Celebrate the great outdoors with a "backyard campout" ...open the door, sleep under the stars, and enjoy a night around the campfire. Bring a tent and campout on Rockhaven's sacred ground. Let's join the thousands of people all across the country that will participate in the National Wildlife Federation's 6th annual backyard campout. We'll break camp at 9:00am the next day (Saturday).

Drum-making Workshop
June 29, Tuesday (10:00 am--around 3:00 pm)
Participants will have a hands-on experience of cutting the ties and 'face' of the drum, punching holes and stretching the hide (elk) over the drum frame. The whole process spiritually connects the maker to the drum; it's a rich and rewarding expereince--hard work but well worth it. There is a bonding experience among the participants as they work together and help each other. Birthing a drum needs a community!
